We meet people over the course of our lives that shape and shift how we see the world and how we move through it. Loving encounters are often associated with the whimsical feeling of floating in the air while a negative encounter can take you down to rock bottom. The popular childhood game of snakes and ladders is perceived through a spiritual lens for some Nigerian families, questioning “how can you be so close to the end of matter only to be suddenly brought down to where you started from”. Some welcome the challenge like post-traumatic growth, while others throw in the towel, unconvinced of their ability to prevail.
